Dear Friend this one is for you!!

Ok so leading off my last post of all things loose and 'Organic'; The other night I went out to the vegie patch to dig up a couple of carrots for dinner when these little fellows came out of the ground linked and interwined togeather.. My 1st thought was "OH!!!" Perhaps I disturbed them too soon!!!llol Dear friend says Hubby had been away for too long... hehehe I will leave it at that shall I....
Anyway, because they were linked togeather I thought I would add this chain that I have made. Yes I am into making chain. In fact I am rather enjoying sitting there hammering, twisting and twining metal into chain. Very theraputic.. Its still early days of wire work, but throughly enjoying the learning process..
Dear friend 2, (you know who you are) yes you have to move from Sydney, that way I could feed you good organic twisty carrots...LOL!!! Love your new piece for Bali, too talented I tell you.

This pic is of my new experiemental Art Journal I am doing through Blue Bazaar. I have completed it I think for this months theme, but after showing Dear Friend number 1 today I am a little scared of sharing my journey into the unknown of art journalling. I shall take pics tomorrow and hopefully the camera will perform magic.. I will tell you that I did loose focus on the theme for a bit and went off and did my own thing.. I also have a couple of other projects that need to be blogged about but they will have to wait until at least the weekend...

Bird Nest Ring

Last night when I was clearing my desk ready for my next project I came across a role of wire. Should I attempt to make something, or go to bed. Well as you can see I "Attempted" to make a birds nest ring. Not a bad a job considering it was 2am. I like to describe it as very "organic" in shape and structure with its "loose" form. (In other words, practice Sarah)

Though I do like this arty "organic" shot.

My Mini Martha

Here is my Mini Martha today, preparing the feast the 2 of us would share togeather tonight. Of course it was a simple Corned Beef or Silverside. But I am rather fussy with cooking it with the right balance of added ingredients for maximum flavour. So today I shared those secrets with my bebe, she was so into it, as this is one of her favourite meals. But it also was one big experiment for me as this was the 1st time I have used my new beautiful LeCreuset pot that I got for Christmas. How long would it take, would it be just as good as always, would it be better??? Mmmm getting hungry just thinking about it. Anyhow as it happens we spent the afternoon with a dear friend and her beautiful daughter, you know who you are, you are so special!! that I forgot to put the pot on.. So improvised dinner of odds and sods, and pot on to cook for tomorrow night.
Well I forgot I had the pot on until 9m tonight, because I finally got the pink VW bug out of garage for a dusting and drive around town and out in the country. I did take my camera to take some pics of our adventure, but again I was just in the driving spirit that no pics were taken. Perhaps over the weekend she may be more lucky. She may even get a wash and polish if the weather is kind.
Well tonight after realising at 10:30pm beef still in the hot pot, it was time to remove and carve. Oh wow beautiful, tender and so so tasty, Le Creuset has my seal of approval and I cant wait until dinner tomorrow night. My mini Martha will be so pleased with her culinary skills tomorrow...

Forget food for now (hard I know) and a big thank you to Sue
for this wonderful blog award. Your far too kind you know. But now I have the pleasure of giving you dear readers 5 blogs that I think that are just fabulous. So no secret here that I stalk these blogs for all their wonderful and inspiring creations these wonderful woman create and share with us.
Numer one of the ranks is that dear friend... Jen Crossley
Number two is Mixed Media Extroidenaire Judy Wilkenfeld
Number three is an amazing artist, love everything she creates, Viola
Number four is an ATC magical genious Gaby Bee
And number 5 is just too hard to come up with as there is so many so I will leave you with this link to one of my favourite stamp designers who again has bought out another must have range of stamps. Now the decision which ones to buy, all I can say is I wish the Aussie Dollar was better then I would get them all.

Rememberance Day

Last Tuesday I tagged along my daughters school excursion to the Shrine of Remembrance. The class entered their fabulous poster in a competition and won. Apparently the reason why they won was because when the shrine first opened, they released white doves. As seen in their poster. Though the kids didn't know that when they made it. The Shrine did a fabulous job of framing and displaying it. The kids got a small guided tour through the crypt and a prize of beautiful books for the school library.

Happy Halloween to everyone who is celebrating tonight.. Only if I was more organised I would have more to show in my Halloween book. However Mr Owl will have to suffice for now. The inspiration for Mr Owl came from the woman herself Jenny
and the window from the awesome talented Audrey . Both owl, windows and branches are all part of the Collections goodness I came home with from Paperific.
Today went junk shopping and this is what I had to come home with. A beautiful oval frame, that shall be painted black.. An old index card drawer, that will house my handmade cards. A fabulous old bread bakers tin that will house my bits and pieces on my desk such as scissors, glues, inks all the essentials.. I also got some lovely tattered and crochets doiles, gloves, postcards that will be used next weekend at Judy's
class here in Melbourne. I am so looking forward to it. I am just hoping that the perfect book I bought off ebay, many months ago for this class, arrives this week. If not plan B will have to have to be used.. Dont ask, I dont have one yet!!!LOL

Paperific and Collections..

Last weekend was Paperific here in Melbourne and I had the wonderful pleasure of working for the wonderful Julie of Collections. It was totally crazy from wo to go, non stop enjoyment for a paperlover I can tell you that much. Julie was absoutley lovely, Jenny was a hoot as always, and the lovely Kerry was an absolute laugh and a pleasure to work along side with.
Jenny and I tag teamed the make and take table, and can I say teaching 300 make and takes over the weekend is no easy feat. They were so popular the waiting list at times reached a 3 hour wait. For most part most of the ladies were incredibly patient and some so not. But one has to realise the make and takes are free for starters, there are many people at different levels of paper crafting and may have never sponged ink, used chipboard etc, so as a teacher we want to share these techniques to people so they too can expand and enjoy their papercrafting experience.
I also met many online friends and put names to faces. Many I didnt get a chance to chat with, but I was there to work afterall, and unfortunately was unable to go out to the dinner with them on the Friday night. But I was thinking of you all. Paperific was fabulous, would do it again in a heartbeat, meeting and teaching was incredibly fun, so thank you Julie for a wonderful weekend.
Can you see all the Collections goodies I came home with... Oh hours of fun there...

1 more necklace..

I made another necklace for a dear friend Michele who owns Scrapbook Shenanigans. It was the shops 5th Birthday 2 weekends ago, and I wanted to do something just a little different for her. It arrived last week and I am so glad you like it Michele.
Happy 5th birthday to SBS.. If your in Townsville, you must pay a visit to her wonderful shop. I can say she is to blame for reignighting my love all things paper, and the path that has been paved ever since.
Scrapbook Shenanigans is located at 2 Kern Bros Drive, Kirwan Townsville.. Tell her Sarah sent you...LOL

I wish I had done it too now.
Thank you Teresa for your ATC, I shall post 1 out for you too.
Then all the ATC's arrived for the Halloween swap I hosted. I think they look fabulous all togeather, thank you to all the ladies who participated. A beautifully spooky lot of ATC's.
Then last week I was totally spoilt with a box load of ATC's that were sent down from North Queensland. These ladies who began there ATC journey only a few months back with the lovely Kim C, all made me several ATC's with that weeks theme. I am over joyed and incredibly thankful they thought of me... Thank you girls, I am glad you all are enjoying making and swapping your ATC's..
I shall hopefully send some ATC goodness back up north in the near future I promise...

I finally did it too...

After months of putting it off, I finally conquered the nerves to go for my grading for yellow belt this morning.
Imogen did hers a couple of months back, and I was suppose to do it with her, though big mama bear here got a wee bit scared. Plus I had to learn a few extra things than what she needed to do. I am sore and tired, but relieved its finally done...

Aussie Dares- Sept

This is my piece for this months theme over at Aussie Dares. This months theme is "The Everyday."
Can you spot the spelling mistake. That darn "Y" went for a wonder around my desk, and wasnt discovered until it went up on the Aussie Dares site, then decided to reappear on my desk. Have I fixed it yet. Sadly no, though I do plan to.. Only if there was spell check on art pieces hey!!! Shows I am only human...LOL
Anyway Rebecca has worked hard at getting 20 new designers for Aussie Dares , so pop over and see a wonderful assortment of art work. I look forward to getting to know all the girls and especially cant wait to see more of their work..

House Book swap- The Glass house..

This house is for Nikki and her theme was "The Glass house."
This one had me stumped there for awhile, but once I got started I really enjoyed making this one.
I cuttlebugged thick transparencies and cut them up and made a mosiac as the background. Hard to see in the pic, and fiddly to do... But I got the overall effect I was after... I hope both Nikki and Gail like their houses.

House Book swap- Vintage Men..

This is the 1st house for a house book swap I am in. The are 15 ladies, and each of us have chosen our own theme for our book, and each month we make a house with the chosen theme and post it on the lady who's month it is. Did any of that make sense????
This is for Gails house book and her theme was "Vintage Men."

MM challenge @ Blue Bazaar

This months mixed media theme over @ Blue Bazaar is "Texture Paste".

So I dug out those Making Memories dingbat foam stamps and stamped them into the texture paste that I lathered onto a canvas. Waited patiently for it to dry (not) used a heat gun, painted a wash of golden paints over it, a couple of script stamps, flowers, metal frame and of course the queen herself Marie Antoinette, who needed some pearls, beads and feathers and hung her up with a vintage bag holder, no less from France itself. Big thank you to Greta for that too.. The perfect finishing touch for such a queenly lady who probably had never carried a shopping bag in her life.. One can only wish!!!!Love Sarahx0x0x0x0x0
