I'm backkkk....

Hi there Bloggers, its me Sarah!  Sarah who you ask? Me, its me I am back, finally after more than a year away playing mum again, I am once again at the table creating. And it feels good. I am loving getting inky, gluey dirty fingers all over again. Even this little one who seems to have grown up way too fast, is loving watching her mum do what she loves. God forbib if anything is within her reach though. I never seem to get it back in the same state. LOL

Anyway I have had a little play around in the last few months with creating some canvases for my daughters,  girlie fun stuff. And now I am back into the book making. I am like a mad woman who cant get enough. Thats what happens when you have a 1 year break. In fact I am making books to sell on etsy. Well I hope I am. Thats if I can part with them.  On the subject of etsy, I would like to say a big thank you to all the lovely ladies out there who have messaged me asking when I will be back in buisness. The answer to that is (Fingers Crossed) some time mid June I am hoping. Maybe earlier all going well.. Hmmfff who am I kidding, I have a 11 month old daughter. No I am more than hopeful it will be June sometime.LOL
Anyway bloggers I must get some beauty sleep, its rather rare in this house, even after 11 months, but its getting much better, and if I want to get these hands dirty tomorrow, sleep is on the menu right now. If all plays out well in the coming days I shall upload some pics of some of the books I have just finished..
Missed you all, and its great to be back..

I shall be back, when I do not know, with what I couldnt tell u, gosh one could even get back to my scrapbooking roots, eeekk now thats my baby brain speaking surely, as its been years, but its a thought either way.

Take care all

I know what your all saying, "Sarah another steampunk book!!" LOL , I know I know, its a fad I am going through..heheh

I just adore Tim Holtz's new book plate stamp and when I saw what my dear friend Jen did, well I just had to play too.

Please check out Jen's blog for her book, and 2 other lovely creative women who have played with Tim's stamps and metal etched their own books. Fab work girls, no wonder we are always inspired to create..

MIA

Sorry dear friends for MIA for quite some time. However have still been creating, here are a couple of books that I was commissioned to make for a lovely lady to give to her mother and daughter.. Forgot how long these big buggers take to make, but I loved every moment of creating them. I also made etched brass bookmarks to go inside.

Will be back later in the week with another book I have made with inspiration coming from my dear talented friend Jen Crossley .

Hope you all had a wonderful easter.

More jewellery from Tim's idea-ology range

Here is another 3 jewellery creations I have been playing with lately. I am loving playing with Tim Holtz's idea-ology range of findings. They lend themselves perfectly to my obesession with those little faces made from polymer clay.
All going well in the next couple of weeks I shall reopen my etsy store with some new books and jewellery (if I can part with it LOL). I will let you all know when it happens here on my blog.

Inspired..

Can you remeber the first person that inspired you to be creative?
As a teen I had 3 wonderful people who inspired me to be creative and start this life long journey of creativity.
Firstly my mum, who always gave me freedom to play and nourished all my ideas. Even if they seemed a bit odd at the time.
Secondly was a wonderful craft teacher Shirley who owned a craft shop in the little town I grew up in. (Would love to know how she is these days). She was incredibly patient with teaching children, and gave us endless supplies of lace and hot glue to create whatever too our fancy.
And thirdly was a dear high school friend Ingrid Lee. Man did she have and still does have some serious talent up her sleeve.
I remeber sitting in art class just wanting to paint like her, needless to say I couldnt. I remember begging her for one of her china painted fairy pendants. She must of finally succumbed to my nagging as I was a proud owner of this beautiful pendant.
Over the years, when I opened up my jewellery box, I would always fondly remember Ingrid, and wonder how she was.
Thankfully Facebook has reunited us, and our passion for art has bought us back togeather. I told her I still had her pendant and wanted to do this blog post to say thank you Ingrid for inspiring me, then and even now.
Please check out her wonderful blog Ingrid creates, even her baking is superb..
By the way sorry for not blogging since Halloween, we have moved interstate just before Christmas, and now thats its a new year, plenty of creating lies await..
Take care all, and promise to return with some of my own creations in the not too distant future.

Inside the Halloween Book.

Thought I would share some of the pages inside my Halloween Book that I have been working on. Its still a work in progress, something that I can pick up and add to whenever it takes my fancy. I also found the inner scrapbooker in me again and did a couple of photo pages of my daughter dressed up a few years back..

This book has given me plenty of pleasure lately and hopefully one day all the pages will be filled with frighfully fun and spooky objet d'art..
